Pre-Course Information
The completion of this course is a prerequisite for applying for your Ohio Concealed Weapon Permit. This training is designed to ensure that applicants are well-informed about firearm safety, legal regulations, and responsible ownership. It is essential to take this course seriously, as it lays the groundwork for responsible firearm use in the community. Upon successful completion, you will be equipped with the knowledge required to proceed with your application. This is a two-part course.
The initial section is delivered online through our website, encompassing essential material over a 6-hour classroom session. You have the flexibility to complete this session at your own pace within a maximum period of one month. Please note that completing this portion is mandatory before you can schedule the second part, which is the 2-hour in-person live fire range experience.
After completing Part 1, you are now able to schedule your required 2-hour in-person live fire range training. This training can take place at our facility in Lexington, Ohio, or at a range of your preference, with certain restrictions and additional fees applying.

Please notify us when you have completed the online portion, and you are ready to schedule your range training. We will verify that you have indeed completed all of the chapters before allowing you to schedule your range training.
Upon successfully completing both sections of the course, you will receive a completion certificate. This certificate can be presented at your local Sheriff's Office to apply for your Ohio Concealed Carry permit.
Important information on our online program
Here are some simple instructions to use the online training program. If you've had any other online training before, this is similar to what you already know.
*You must view 100% of each video to in order to be able to hit the "Mark As Complete" button at the top of each chapter and you cannot scroll ahead to bypass those videos.
*You cannot go to the next chapter until you hit the "Mark As Complete" button. Make sure you hit the "Mark As Complete" button before leaving that chapter or you will not get credit for viewing that chapter and may have to view the chapter again. If you leave before hitting the "Mark As Complete" button, you will have to redo that chapter again before the system will allow you to move forward.
*You must complete chapters in order. The next chapter will not be made available until the previous chapter is completed.
*You will not be able to skip ahead chapters until you've finished the previous chapter(s). However, you are able to go back to a chapter you've already completed if you wanted to review that chapter again.
If you decide to take a break and come back later, make sure you finish that chapter first, click the "Mark As Complete" button before stopping or logging out of the program. Most chapters are less than 15 minutes.
The progress box will show your progress. If you forgot what chapter you ended on, simply scroll down that progress box and you will see a circled green check mark which indicates what chapters you've already completed. Simply go to the next chapter and continue.

The State of Ohio mandates a knowledge test upon completion of the program. This assessment encompasses fundamental gun safety rules, the components of a firearm, and various topics discussed throughout the course. While the test is not particularly challenging, it a necessary requirement for all participants.
If you have any issues with this program, please call us so that we can help you through that issue. (419-565-7537)
